Only person without an ego

How one can be without an ego? Unless you shed your identity, you cannot shed your ego. There is only one person who was without an ego. He was Lord Krishna.
He accepted to be the driver of the chariot (in the battle field of Kurukshetra war). We don’t know the difficulties of a driver of a chariot.
In the midst of the war, while fight is going on, you cannot give instructions to the driver, ‘Hey turn left here’ and so on. In the war, Arjuna was sitting above him. How Arjuna did convey the messages to Krishna?
He will place his leg on the left shoulder of Krishna, if the chariot has to be turned left and on the right shoulder, if the chariot has to be turned right.
If you become a chariot driver, will you accept it? However, Krishna accepted it. That is the nature of Divine beings. He did his work as a charioteer with full devotion.
Running the chariot is Karma Yoga for him. Running it with devotion is Bhakti yoga for him. Because he rode it with so much of dedication, he attained the supreme knowledge (Gnana) in driving the chariot.
That’s why His Gita is Bhagavad Gita.
When the war was over how did Arjuna behave?
That’s the difference between the lord and human beings.
After the war, he told Krishna, ‘I am the warrior. Will you please get down first?”
That’s the protocol in the war. Krishna replied to him, “War is over. You get down first”.
Arjuna got down first and then Krishna did. The moment Krishna got down from the chariot, it burst into flames. Had Krishna followed the protocol, what would have happened? Arjuna would have been killed in the flames.
TINY is the switch word which fully describes Krishna.

Meet your commitments to your body
Posted by Elsol
From the “I Love Myself” Workbook
Do the following exercise
-
What should you eat and what you should not eat. Make a list and follow that to the core.
Sometimes body does not accept certain types of food. Yet, we try to eat the same food again and again.
Instead you have to prepare a list of items which you can eat and list out all those which your body does not accept.
When you prepare the list you are giving a commitment to your body and you need to follow that.
- Another thing is that whatever ways you behave outside we behave in the same manner with the body too. “I should not say this because the other person will be wounded”. Thinking like this, to please him, we tell a lie.
When you can’t meet a commitment, don’t make one
Suppose someone invites us for wedding. To please him we say that we will come definitely. But, we do not go to the wedding at all. I have also committed such mistakes.
Later on I found out that when I say something it is not a commitment to that person but it is a commitment to the God. I questioned myself, “Am I cheating the universe”?
Then I decided to tell the truth. If I am able to go I will say yes. Otherwise, I will say that I will not be able to make it.
Like that if you tell me that you are meeting me next week then it means that you are not making a commitment to me but you are committing to the Universe.
Commitment to our body
If one food is not being accepted by the body, we tell that I should not eat this food again. This is a commitment that you are giving to the Universe.
Next time when we eat that food again then we are breaking our own commitment.
The Universe is always watching all of us because it is the web of life. If I have to get my food at 1 p.m., it is already decided that it will come from a particular person.
By restraining yourself by not eating certain food, you are honoring your own body.

Karma Vs Free Will
Posted by Elsol
(From a telephone conversation)
Ranga
On one hand, you say our life is pre-destined. On the other hand, you also say we need to heal ourselves. I think, you are contradicting yourself.
Naran
As you are calling me, I am trying to fix my scissors, which is broken – one side of it is blunt, and so I am not able to use it. All of us know the fact that both the pieces of scissors are required for it to be useful, as one piece of scissors alone cannot do the job (of cutting).
Likewise, Karma and Free Will are two parts of healing that we have in life. One part alone cannot do the trick.
Healing transforms and changes a person.
Are we not using our free-will in our life?
No. We do every action unconsciously. We feel, think and behave over which we have no control as we feel and behave like a robot. Thus, we are operating from our lower free-will.
Healing uses higher free-will to bring internal change in a person, to effect a conscious behavior. Healing teaches you to choose the empowering emotions to change your attitude to your life. In addition, healing doesn’t alter anything outside of one. It is happening inside us.
What happens when we use our lower free-will?
When we use our lower free-will we are ruled by our emotions. For example, when there is a conflict, we use angry words. How can anger resolve anger (conflict)?
Thus, we add more to our karma, staying in troubled waters. How does somebody who is also in troubled water can save us? Only a person above the water – a person not influenced by his emotions, can help us. Such persons operate from their higher free-will, overcoming Karma and lessening it.
Both Karma and Healing help us learn our life lessons
Karma teaches us some lessons that make us whole and complete. If we don’t learn our lessons, our life is repeated in the same fashion – meaning the same karma in action.
So both, healing and karma do the same job in a different way. Both are required.
If somebody thinks that he can achieve anything in life by healing, he will fail for sure, as he is limited by his karma.
On the other hand, if somebody believes that he is destined to live in a particular way, then he will also fail, as we can heal our karma, by bringing an internal change.
What is an internal change? Internal change is nothing but evolving to ascend.
Thus, both Karma and Higher Free-will are required by us, to make our life whole and complete.
